Community Programs

Our community programs make sure that everyone has access to free computer training.    Whether teens, seniors or adults, we have programs that support learning for all.

Seniors First

CETAT provides personalized computer literacy training for seniors in both Baltimore City and Prince George’s County, Maryland, through a combination of in-person and virtual instruction. The program helps seniors build essential digital skills, such as using smartphones and tablets, setting up and managing email, engaging on social media, and understanding basic cybersecurity practices to stay safe online.

Participants are encouraged to bring their own devices or use computers available at community locations. This intergenerational program connects seniors with younger instructors and volunteers who offer patient, one-on-one guidance, promoting digital confidence while fostering meaningful connections across generations.

Create Initiative

The Create Initiative is CETAT’s innovative summer program that introduces youth to digital media, emerging technologies, and creative expression. Participants engage in hands-on learning across areas such as web design, digital photography, videography, music production, drone technology, game design, and the use of relevant AI tools to enhance their projects.

Throughout the program, students develop a digital portfolio showcasing their work and accomplishments, which can be used for college, internships, or employment opportunities. In addition to technical training, the Create Initiative includes professional development and coaching to help youth build essential skills like communication, collaboration, and leadership.

Offered in both in-person and virtual formats, and launched with its first virtual cohort in 2020, the Create Initiative continues to provide flexible, high-impact learning experiences that prepare students for success in a digital world.

After-School Programming

Upon completion, participants are ready to pursue career opportunities in technology and business, with a strong foundation in digital skills that are crucial in today’s workforce.

Social Justice / Entrepreneur Business Incubator

The Social Justice/Entrepreneur Business Incubator Program empowers youth to develop and promote businesses that reflect their values and passions. This program combines instruction on business planning, branding, and marketing with a focus on using technology tools to advance social justice and entrepreneurial goals.
